Summit Orthopedics Physicians To See Patients at Apple Valley Medical Center
August 1, 2013
Three Summit Orthopedics physicians began seeing patients July 1 in the United Specialty Center located on the second floor of the Apple Valley Medical Center. They replace Mark Sigmond, M.D., of Orthopedic Specialists, who retired.
Physicians now providing care at the Apple Valley Medical Center are:
• Kristoffer Breien, M.D., focusing on sports medicine, as well as complex revision of hip and knee replacements, arthroscopic procedures, lower extremity sports injuries and fracture care.
• L.T. Donovan, D.O., addressing arthritis, repetitive motion trauma, congenital abnormalities, sports-related injuries, nerve compression problems and conditions of the hand through the elbow.
• Jerry Perra, M.D., specializing in sports medicine; joint replacement of the knee, hip and shoulder; unicompartmental knee replacement; reverse total shoulder replacement; trauma and minimally invasive surgical intervention.
“We are proud to welcome Summit Orthopedics to our facility,” said Mike Foley, Administrator and Chief Operating Officer of the Apple Valley Medical Clinic, one of the other providers at the center. “We know they will offer our patients and the community high quality orthopedic services and complement the wide range of health care already available at the Apple Valley Medical Center.”
Summit Orthopedics was founded 27 years ago and today is one of the Twin Cities’ largest orthopedic groups, with more than 40 physicians, 400 full-time employees, 11 clinic locations, three OrthoQUICK walk-in clinics and two surgery centers.
“Being part of the Apple Valley Medical Center is an important strategic effort for our organization,” said Adam Berry, CEO, Summit Orthopedics. “Many of our patients come from the south metro, and this location will provide them with greater convenience, as well as access to the many ancillary services offered at the Apple Valley Medical Center.”
